The beginning of a New Year is a perfect time for many of us to re-examine our lives, and I am not an exception. Looking back at 2010 I cannot help but to think about how life-changing that year has been for me. I quit my full-time job, moved out of Sydney to a beautiful little seaside town called Byron Bay, a centre of alternative living; I have discovered yoga and the joy of living a simple and active lifestyle. I have also had a few spiritual discoveries that without any doubt have changed my world, and I cannot be thankful enough for that.
However, there are still a few things I’d like to improve, and January is the perfect time to start a new life…again :)
- I will try to spend less time at the computer. I have no idea yet how this can be achieved, but I think doing this will be for the best.
- I finally should get a yoga body and lose the last two kilos that are stopping me from achieving my goal weight. So, as of Monday, yoga trainings are back to the three times a week schedule.
- I would love to spend as much time as I can outdoors, doing all sorts of different things: running, swimming, diving, walking. I can do that if I reduce the time I spend at the computer.
- Start taking surfing lessons. Nothing gives me more joy than spending time swimming and diving, so I have decided to take it to the next level and start learning how to surf, and considering that I live in one of the most popular surfing places, it shouldn’t be a problem. Currently I am in the process of buying a surf board.
- Become a vegetarian. This is a very logical step for me that I finally have to make, and I am going to do it this year. I choose to be a vegetarian for a number of reasons, mostly ethical, but I also do not have a need for meat, actually quite the opposite. In the last few years I have been “almost” a vegetarian, however this year I want to make it 100%.
- I want to spend time reading more books. I love reading. This is one of the things I enjoy most. I always had a passionate love for literature and philosophy, however in the last year I have developed a great interest in ancient history, world myths and legends and the history of religions, both traditional and alternative, so I hope to find time and learn more on this fascinating subject.
As you can see, I have lots of ideas and not so much time to spare, however this year I am very determined to achieve all my resolutions. If you have any resolutions of your own, I’d like to hear them, please feel free to share.
